What is content?

This is a very good question, because the word “content” means different things to different people depending what their business is and their role within it, and indeed their precise requirements. Let’s take a look at some of the possibilities and how BXD might help as your content provider.

Website content

Content for a company website or blog is often the first requirement for content that comes to mind for many people.

Website content is certainly something that BXD can readily provide, whatever the nature of your business. We have so many years experience in doing this, in fact from the early days of the internet itself in Europe. And let’s face it, what you are reading now is one form of content!

Web content just requires a special style, often one that is quite simple, possibly conversational, that is quickly understood.

Frequent headlines and sub-headlines are employed so people can skim-read.

Take a look at your own website analytics… you will quickly see just how short people’s attention span is when surfing the web. That’s because they are typically looking for a specific piece of information. They are not interested in your life-story (or rarely) or possibly even your business.

People are seeking information. And if they find your website to be a good resource, they will probably return.

And once you have established your credentials as a solid source for the information they need, eventually they might buy!

Brochure content

Another area where content is needed – in this case very precise content – is in the creation of brochures, including product brochures and data sheets.

This is an area in which BXD has particular interest and expertise, particularly in creating technical brochures and also in the simplification of information for wider dissemination, such as for more general media publication and public consumption.

Video content

We can also create video content to order. This is often for educational and training purposes. However we can also create advertising videos, marketing videos, and public awareness videos.

We can also create what is today known as “video shorts” for use on social media.

Social media content

Social media content is becoming almost “must-have” these days. And it’s actually, in spite of what is frequently thought, it is quite difficult to create, or at least well so that it actually fulfils a commercial objective – encouraging an action, such as a visit to a website, a signup, or a document download.

The big brands tend to have it down to a tee, but that’s after years of experimentation, a lot of failure, and typically a lot of money wasted, regularly many millions. but eventually for some it has finally paid off big-time.

So you might be pleased, or relieved to learn, that we too have been working with social media for years and, like the household name brands, have been experimenting and testing for years.

With social media, in general you need to understand that simple is best… and it’s increasingly a visual thing requiring good images/graphics and video.

Typically, posting without such media is a waste of time, since your posts will rarely be seen.
